Primary Purpose
Reporting to the Vice President, People & Culture (HR), this position is responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract top-tier talent for both corporate and faculty roles, ensuring a seamless and efficient recruitment process across all departments. In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, manage a team of recruiters and talent acquisition specialists and contribute to the overall success of our university's recruitment efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of urgency, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
Specific Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, will, at various times, be responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support UCW's business objectives, mission, and purpose:

Collaborate with senior management to develop recruitment strategies aligned with the University's goals and objectives.

Provide strategic direction and approach to building net-new operational frameworks

Design and implement breakthrough recruitment and sourcing strategies based on attracting qualified passive candidates.

Provide strategic oversight and consistent governance of talent acquisition priorities and standards of practices, including community outreach and EDI partnerships and implementing relevant policies.

Create and lead an integrated service delivery model through the leadership of the selection and retention of Talent Acquisition team members.

Facilitate workforce planning and headcount projections to anticipate future talent needs and proactively identify recruitment priorities.

Analyze market trends, demographic data, and competition to identify opportunities and develop targeted recruitment initiatives.

Lead, manage, coach, and develop a high-performing Recruitment Function to ensure UCW hiring goals are achieved.

Set performance goals for the team and provide regular feedback to ensure individual and team success.

Develop and maintain effective recruitment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Establish and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies, job boards, universities, and other talent sources.

Maintain a thorough understanding of the local labour market in terms of compensation trends, practices, mobility, and other areas to ensure we are competitive.

Develop and execute employer branding initiatives to enhance the company's reputation as an employer of choice.

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor on recruitment best practices.

Manage recruitment budget.

Manage and ensure the ATS is updated according to defined standards and champion best practices for leveraging all tools efficiently.

Oversee metrics regarding all aspects of the hiring process for open positions with goals of improving the visibility of progress, reducing cycle time, maximizing existing networks, employee referrals, and reducing hiring costs.

Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on recruitment activities, metrics, and outcomes.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proven experience in recruitment, including experience in a leadership or managerial role.

Knowledge of BC employment standards and legislation.
-
Experience in the education industry would be an asset.

CPHR preferred but not required.
