We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and assembly of trailers to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and diagnostics on trailers to identify issues.
- Conduct repairs on trailer components including brakes, axles, and electrical systems.
- Assemble new trailers according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and assembly tasks.
- Operate forklifts as needed to move trailers or parts around the shop.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and resolve mechanical issues.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance performed on each trailer.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive repair or as a mechanic, preferably with trailers or heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with HVAC systems is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks such as digging when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license may be required depending on job responsibilities.
