Job Summary
The Sports Bar Associate is a genuine sports and people enthusiast who enjoys serving customers in a bar and simulator environment. The Sports Bar Associate is responsible for engaging customers in conversation about sports while providing an exceptional and timely customer service experience. The Sports Bar Associate is also very comfortable learning to use simulators technology, continually upgrading their knowledge as technology changes, sharing this knowledge with customers, and will not shy away from troubleshooting minor issues with simulators, computers, and AV equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to achieving successful financial results for Players through generating above average sales and contributing to the management of operational costs/expenses
- Be responsible for cash management processes during shifts including but not limited to accurately handling all cash, debit, and credit transactions, processing payments correctly, informing the General Manager of cash levels, and properly completing reconciliations at closing
- Create connections with customers by providing high quality service, food and beverages, and an inviting atmosphere to help promote repeat and new business
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience each shift by engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner and chatting it up about sports (i.e. golf, F1 racing)
- Maintain a positive attitude that contributes to the teamwork at Players
- Assist with training of new employees as required
- Promptly respond to telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Book reservations for simulators
- Set up customers on golf and F1 simulators (training provided)
- Continually learn and promote software upgrades and the simulators technology to customers
- Troubleshoot minor issues with simulators, computers, and AV equipment
- Direct issues regarding equipment and facilities to General Manager if not able to resolve on own
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and simulator area while ensuring supplies are available to customers (i.e. menus, condiments, napkins, etc.)
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers monitoring customer alcohol consumption and helping to prevent over-intoxication
- Exercise safe food handling and sanitation processes to ensure the protection of customers
- Show a strong knowledge of menu items, take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Prepare and ensure timely delivery of food orders
- Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to General Manager when necessary
- Help organize and facilitate leagues, and private and corporate events
- Assist with inventory management process for all food, beverage and facility supplies (i.e. maintain appropriate supply levels, notify General Manager of inventory requirements, receive and stock orders, etc.)
- Be responsible for opening and closing procedures and act as a keyholder
- Prioritize workload to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner to meet deadlines
- Be willing to learn and grow with the company and upgrade job related skills to meet job requirements as necessary
- Maintain brand standards by ensuring company systems and processes in place are followed
- Adhere to company policies, procedures and practices
- Perform other duties as required

Qualifications
- 3 years experience in an elevated restaurant/bar environment
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Post-secondary diploma/certification/training in a related field considered a benefit
- Valid Smart Serve Certificate required
- Valid Food Handlers Certificate required
- Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends
- Keen interest in sports and will have actively participated in sports activities
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and reliable available vehicle
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
