Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking survey assistants/junior party chiefs for the summer to work on projects out of our Kamloops, Prince George and Terrace offices.
Under supervision, you will assist with a broad range of field surveys including legal and non-legal boundary resolution, topographic, design, volumetric, preliminary planning, control and construction. As part of our team, you will work in urban, rural, industrial, and sometimes very remote locations. Responsibilities include accurately recording measurements and other data, preparing field notes, quality control for survey work, and compiling and computing data.
Requirements
Enrolled in a Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree program in Geomatics; OR have a strong interest in the field of work.
Willingness to work long hours sometimes in physically demanding conditions.
Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills with a high level of dependability.
Ability to work independently to accomplish the survey goals.
Willingness to learn and contribute in a dynamic team environment is essential.
Experience using Trimble Survey Equipment and data processing is an asset.
Experience with drones/UAVs, basic or advanced drone license is an asset.
Previous experience in an engineering consulting, mining, or heavy industrial environment will be considered an asset.
Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to the Kamloops, Prince George or Terrace area.
A valid driver’s license is required.
