Local and Regional Driver (Class 5) – Halifax, NS – 5 Ton Local and Surrounding Area - Monday to Friday, 6-8 hours/day starting at 7:00am

DRIVER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Securely transport high-value furniture and goods, bringing them into the room of choice, performing assembly or installation, and removing all packaging materials while delivering exceptional face-to-face customer care
· Establish & maintain solid relationships with our local and regional customers.
· Plan shipment routes to ensure optimal deliveries are completed each day
· Ensure order accuracy upon accepting or delivering to the customer.
· Verifying product in good condition, notating any issues on bill of lading.
· Complete a proper pre trip and post trip inspection under the Schedule 1 requirement.
· Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness including possible roadside repairs.
· Maintain a safe and clean environment for yourself, your co-workers and our customers.
· Communicate with customer, warehouse and dispatch.
· Assist in loading and offloading of freight in and out of truck as required
. Driver performance will be tracked through telematics collected by truck device.
· Duties are not limited to the above noted items.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Class 5 License required
· Clean abstract and driving record
· A Good attitude, strong work ethic and great customer service skills.
· Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., and the ability to maneuver merchandise more than 100 lbs. using appropriate assistance equipment.
· Attention to detail.
· Must be able to communicate via email and use company technology as trained
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Self-starters that can work on their own and in a team environment.
· Logistics and/or warehouse experience is preferred, but not necessary.
· Positive can-do attitude and the aptitude to back that up.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
