Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Warehouse Assistant to oversee daily warehouse operations, manage inventory, and coordinate logistics activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with various ERP and warehouse management systems. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing and supply chain environment. Bilingual skills in English and French are preferred to facilitate effective communication across diverse teams.
Duties
- Supervise warehouse staff, including team management and supervising experience, ensuring efficient workflow and safety compliance
- Oversee inventory control, order picking, packing, and shipping processes using Warehouse Management System (WMS), SAP, AS400, and ERP systems
- Coordinate with procurement and purchasing teams to manage stock levels and supply chain logistics
- Utilize Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting, data analysis, and process documentation
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to optimize warehouse distribution processes and reduce inefficiencies
- Manage warehouse distribution activities including 3PL operations and e-commerce order fulfillment
- Ensure accurate data entry and analysis for inventory tracking and process improvement initiatives
- Oversee forklift operations while maintaining safety standards; perform heavy lifting as required
- Facilitate communication between departments to streamline operations and enhance customer service levels
- Maintain organizational skills to ensure timely completion of tasks within tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics coordination within manufacturing or distribution environments
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SAP, ERP systems, AS400, and Warehouse Management System software
- Bilingual in English and French is highly desirable; excellent communication skills in both languages are essential
- Knowledge of supply chain management, process improvement methodologies, and continuous improvement practices
- Ability to supervise teams effectively while demonstrating leadership qualities
- Experience with forklift operation and heavy lifting required; safety certification preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on time management and efficiency
- Familiarity with purchasing processes, packaging operations, order picking, and e-commerce logistics is advantageous
- Analytical skills for data analysis and process evaluation; strong problem-solving capabilities are essential
