Corel is seeking a skilled Data analyst to join our Analytics team. As a Data Analyst, you will work on day-to-day reporting/analytics deliverables as well as long-term projects to create value through deeper insights on our customers, behaviors and products.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytic systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and in-depth analysis aimed at identifying opportunities and optimizing strategies
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and integrate to create a holistic view of our strategies in action
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data by understanding expected patterns and identifying outliers and unexplained variances
  • Work with internal IT teams to solve complex data problems around quality and tracking to constantly improve trust in the analytics produced
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Statistics
  • 3+ years’ experience mining, understanding and interpreting data as a data analyst
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings to senior Executives through sharp visualization
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Tableau critical), databases (SQL etc) and knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Prior experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
