The Warehouse Technician is a role within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department and reports directly to the Inventory Supervisor. The role is responsible for, but not limited to, warehouse management pertaining to inventory, cycle counts, equipment repair process, purchase requisition creation, and shipping/receiving, as well as assist other district activities when required.

Based out of the Pioneer I plant site (located approximately 25 minutes north of Ft McMurray) this position will support all materials for three facilities in the area.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:
Maintain and review inventory requirements i.e. min/max, safety stock and replenishment needs
Maintain inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts and annual physical inventories
Identify obsolete equipment and make recommendations for removal from inventory
Apply warehousing methodology to optimize Inventory and storage capabilities
Receiving and put away of product from vendors to warehouse inventory, Dock to Stock target of 95% within 8 business hours
Put away and pick material according to FIFO logic, where applicable
Ensure that goods are received and verified in SAP
Replenish material to warehouse based on Re-Order Point levels
Creation of SAP Purchase Requisitions
Coordinate material deliveries to Operations and shipments to and from vendors
Work closely with Operations to ensure product delivery and support On Time to Request targets
Ensure that all issuance and transfers of IPL "materials" are kept current within the SAP management system and that the information is communicated effectively
Adhere to all Warehousing and Purchasing guidelines as set out by the SCM department
Promote a culture of incident prevention and EH&S excellence by serving as a role model and adhering to our EH&S Policy, Values and Commitments
Ensure EH&S incidents are reported (near miss cards) and participate in investigation if required, with the aim to correct systems to prevent further incidents
Ensure all work is carried out safely and all incidents are reported properly.
Perform required number of Safety Audits (rotating Departmental schedule) and bring forward Near Miss opportunities

Education, Skills and Experience:
APICS or SCMP designation would be a benefit
Six + years of relevant experience
H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS 2015, Forklift Certification
Extensive knowledge of Oil and Gas equipment and materials
Working experience in Oil and Gas projects, commissioning/start up and operational phases in a plant environment would be beneficial
Strong communication and organizational skills
Microsoft Office skills
Experience with Enterprise Management Systems, i.e. Maximo, SAP
Class 5 driver’s license with satisfactory drivers abstract required
As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.

Successful candidate must be able and willing to perform all physical requirements of the position including but not limited to walking, crouching, bending, standing, climbing and lifting up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis.
