Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor is responsible for working closely with operations management to promote a positive safety culture while continually anticipating, and assessing, safety and health hazards that may be encountered by Kandrea personnel to ensure the risks are effectively eliminated or controlled.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Implementation, communication, and maintenance of all Kandrea safety policies and programs
- Acts as an advisor and a resource of safety policies and procedures to all Kandrea employees onsite
- Participate in the identification, evaluation, control, and management of hazards and risks
- Ensure consistent promotion and utilization of safe work practices, safe job procedures, and company safety rules
- Interact with company, subcontractors and client personnel to ensure health and safety compliance with client sites, project policies and procedures
- Provide safety coverage for field personnel and assists them in answering safety questions
- Act as a resource to supervisors on OH&S requirements, how the laws are distinguished, and need to be followed
- Creates and maintains appropriate records and documents for records and reporting requirements (KPI reports, etc.)
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of Kandrea HSE policies, procedures, and practices by developing, implementing, reviewing, seeking input, and suggesting changes to documents and practices
- Acts as a liaison between regulatory bodies and client
- Notify immediately (within one hour or as soon as practical), the senior management, of any accident, property damage, incident, etc.

Education & Experience
- 3-5 years experience in a similar role as a site safety advisor
- NCSO or CRSP Designation or equivalent education and experience in the health and safety field
- Knowledge of Provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations is required
- Ability to maintain the following safety tickets: CSTS 20, H2S Alive, WHMIS
- Valid Class 5 License and a clean drivers abstract

Working Conditions
- This is a field based position, working a rotation of 14 days on /7 days off on our project located in Elkford, BC.
- Hotel accommodations will be provided by the employer, with a $75 daily meal allowance.
- Travel accommodations will also be provided by the employer, with a rotational travel allowance of $1,000 along with a company vehicle.
- Standing, sitting, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing
- May occasionally require lifting, pulling and/or pushing or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Walking extensive distances
