Position Summary
The Licensed Exterminator / Pest Control Technician is responsible for inspecting properties, identifying pest, weed, and vegetation management issues, and implementing safe and effective treatment programs. This role involves the application of pesticides, herbicides, and other approved control products in accordance with all applicable legislation, licensing requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently across residential and commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of properties to identify pest infestations and risk factors
- Develop and implement effective pest management and treatment plans
- Apply pesticides and other approved pest control measures in compliance with applicable legislation and manufacturer guidelines
- Educate other Company employees on preventative measures and integrated pest management practices
- Maintain accurate service records, treatment reports, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain pest control equipment, tools, and company vehicles in good working order
- Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, tenants, and coworkers
- Participate in mandatory training and ongoing professional development activities
Required Qualifications
- Valid Exterminator Licence in accordance with Ontario provincial requirements
- Minimum 3 years of pest control or extermination experience
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record
- Demonstrated experience applying pesticides and herbicides safely and effectively
- Strong knowledge of integrated pest management (IPM), pesticide regulations, herbicide application techniques, and environmental protection requirements
- Ability to read and interpret product labels, safety data sheets, and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing commercial and multi-residential properties
- Knowledge of property maintenance operations
- First Aid/CPR certification
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work environments in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to pests, chemicals, dust, and allergens
- Occasional evening, weekend, and on-call work may be required
- Travel between client sites throughout the service area
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
