Job Description:
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Accountable for providing day-to-day operational leadership and oversight for the delivery of Risk Assessment and Monitoring programs, services and initiatives, ensuring an integrated, risk-based approach that supports the overall objectives and priorities of Integrated Credit Union Supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Delivery & Operational Execution
Leads the execution and continuous improvement of Risk Assessment and Monitoring programs in alignment with strategic and regulatory priorities.
Oversees day-to-day delivery of programs and services, ensuring adherence to performance standards and best practices.
Directs the implementation and enhancement of monitoring frameworks, tools, and processes to strengthen risk oversight.
Drives implementation of change initiatives and supports cultural transformation within the unit.
Promotes innovation and continuous improvement in processes, tools, and analytical approaches.
Risk Assessment & Analysis
Oversees prudential supervisory activities, including institution-level assessments and continuous monitoring, ensuring risk identification reflects institutional size and complexity.
Leads the application of quantitative risk analysis (e.g., scenario analysis, stress testing) to support forward-looking supervision.
Oversees risk assessments, including analysis of inherent risks, capital adequacy, and liquidity.
Frameworks, Insights & Advisory
Contributes to the development and refinement of supervisory frameworks, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Risk-Based Supervisory Framework).
Provides subject matter expertise and actionable insights to inform management decision-making and address emerging risks.
Supports consistent application of principles-based and risk-based approaches across teams.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program delivery and alignment.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to advance departmental and organisational priorities.
Governance & Leadership Support
Contributes to broader leadership objectives by supporting execution of organisational strategies and priorities.
Acts on behalf of the Director, as delegated, to ensure continuity of operations and decision-making.
People Leadership & Team Development
Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and inclusion.
Manages team performance, capability development, and employee engagement to support business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Degree in finance, economics, science, engineering, or related field with significant quantitative content; graduate degree is preferred; or a combination of education and experience considered equivalent
Designations (such as CFA or FRM) are an asset
Experience
Minimum 8 years’ experience directing, planning, and managing the delivery of programs, services, initiatives in financial services, with expertise in quantitative analytics, risk assessment, risk management, and modelling.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading and managing teams and resolving complex issues.
Experience with financial regulation, an asset
Knowledge and Skills
Expertise in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) theories and methodologies, with the ability to apply principles‑based and risk‑based approaches within complex regulatory environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee complex financial and non‑financial analyses, translating multifaceted data and insights into strategic, evidence‑based decisions that support organisational objectives and risk management priorities.
Proven expertise in quantitative analytics, risk assessment, and risk management, with the ability to inform regulatory oversight and enhance risk intelligence across regulated sectors.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives, boards, and external stakeholders to drive alignment and results.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and impactful executive briefings, supported by a strong understanding of governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Highly adaptable, and forward‑thinking, with a strong understanding of the credit union and/or broader banking environment and emerging industry trends.
Demonstrated management capability, including the ability to set clear performance expectations, and build, develop, and sustain high‑performing, collaborative teams aligned with organisational priorities.
Proven ability to lead and deliver complex transformation initiatives, driving change and embedding new processes and frameworks.

**Salary Range - $106,462 -$156,462 (Range will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills, experience and qualifications).
