FIELD ERECTOR - LEAD
L.A. Metal Buildings is a trusted name in the manufacturing of self-framing buildings, with over 30 years of experience serving oil and gas, communications, and commercial construction sites.
We are currently looking for a Full-time Lead Field Erector, to join our dynamic team.
Reporting directly to the Field Supervisor and/or General Manager, the Lead Field Erector is responsible for the assembly, installation and erection of metal buildings and projects on customer sites. The Lead Field Erector is accountable in ensuring the work on-site is on schedule, all safety requirements are met each day, and liaising with the site contact(s). This position is also accountable in coordinating the Field Labourers on-site, and and mentoring their progress.
The Field Erector has the following key responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
· Assembly and installation of sheet metal products.
· Assemble and install buildings at client specified locations.
· Install and repair sheet metal products and ensure installation conforms to specifications and building codes.
· Meet all Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
· Accurate and timely preparation and delivery of required project paperwork for the customer and the company.
· Provide or assist with the training and development of Field Erection Services staff.
· Act as a resource for staff, through training, coaching and mentoring and being a daily role model in the Field.
· Contribute to, and promote ideas for, improving operations and processes, particularly as they relate to Field Erection Services.
· Seek opportunities to improve the Field’s operations and processes, providing ideas and solutions to company leadership team.
Qualification Requirements:
· 3 – 5 years of Sheet Metal building erection or relatable construction experience.
· Experience as a Lead/ Foreman / Supervisor of a crew and/or team of people ( minimum 2-3 years ).
· Ability to lift 50 lbs.
· CSTS 2020
· Fall protection
· Fall Protection certification
· Man Lift/AWP/EWP certification
· ·Driver’s license
· Reliable transportation for driving to job sites
· Able to work at heights (ladders, manlifts, etc.)
· Must be able to work out of town as required
· Availability to work from 6:00 a.m. to 16:30 p.m. Monday to Friday
· Trained and certified on all building erection and safety equipment and vehicles
· Good Communication, both verbal and written
· Good teaching and leadership skills
· Good problem-solving and analytical skills to quickly resolve issues
· Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism in order to build and maintain excellent customer relations
· Excellent organizational skills to manage one’s own work and the work of others
· Ability to use or adapt to latest technologies, systems and tools for communication, problem solving and contribute to continuous improvement in operations
· Ability to learn and apply worksite operational safety and environmental standards as established by the company’s clients.
· Patience, dependability and accuracy
· Ability to successfully pass drug and alcohol testing in order to meet customers’ requirements
· Other equivalencies as appropriate to the responsibilities
This position is full-time, 40 hours a week with the potential for overtime.
