Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Director of Childcare Operations to provide leadership and operational oversight for our licensed childcare centres. This role is responsible for supporting high-quality programs, strengthening centre leadership teams, and maintaining consistent operations across all locations.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who enjoys working in a multi-site environment, traveling between centres, and supporting both the big-picture goals and day-to-day needs of the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Centre Support
- Provide leadership and direction to multiple childcare centres.
- Support Centre Managers, Supervisors, and Administrative staff through coaching and mentorship.
- Promote a positive, professional, and team-focused culture.
- Encourage accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across all centres.
- Implement and monitor standardized policies and procedures.
- Identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Ensure centres have the staffing, supplies, and equipment needed to operate effectively.
- Travel regularly between centres to provide on-site support and guidance.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all centres remain compliant with provincial childcare regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of childcare legislation and best practices.
- Support centres in preparing for inspections and reviews.
- Monitor program quality and implement improvements when needed.
- Address compliance concerns promptly and follow through on corrective actions.
Staffing & Performance Management
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff retention efforts.
- Assist Centre Managers with scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
- Help resolve staff concerns and support a respectful workplace.
- Ensure employee certifications and required training remain current.
- Encourage professional development and leadership growth.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in childcare, early learning, or multi-site operations.
- Experience managing multiple locations or large teams.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly between centres.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by operational needs.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification or related post-secondary education.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
