Full-Time Behaviour Support Worker - North Vancouver

As a Full-Time Behaviour Support Worker for our Special Needs therapeutic program located in North Vancouver, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and special needs in a therapeutic home setting. The schedule is 40 hours/week, Sunday-Thursday, 3pm-11pm shifts.

Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Psychology, ECE, ABA, Social Services, or related field and/or equivalent experience working with youth with ASD and special needs
Demonstrated experience working with youth with aggressive behaviours and mental health challenges
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Effective de-escalation and crisis management skills
Ability to follow behavioural support plans
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
Building positive working relationships with the client, family, community members, and other professionals involved in the care team
Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting youth with personal care as needed
Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans

Salary: $21.68-$23.50/hour plus benefits
