About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our finance team. Accountants work across multiple clients and will be based either working from home, while other clients may require onsite - this role therefore is considered a hybrid role with some days on site and some work from home.
This role is ideal for a designated CPA (or candidate actively working toward their CPA designation) who brings strong ERP system experience and a hands-on approach to improving financial processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening our clients financial reporting, optimizing their recently implemented ERP system, and identifying opportunities for process improvement on the finance side.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and enhancement of financial reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with business needs.
Assist with the configuration, optimization, and ongoing setup of the ERP system as it relates to financial functions.
Perform full-cycle accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
Review existing financial processes and workflows to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
Collaborate with other Accountants and cleints icnluding Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure financial data integrity within the ERP environment.
Support compliance with applicable Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS as applicable) and internal controls.
Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
Qualifications
CPA designation, or actively pursuing a CPA designation (required).
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong, demonstrated experience working with ERP systems (required).
Experience with Epicor ERP strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting and general ledger functions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools - dashboard reporting is essential and advanced Excel is mandatory.
Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities within a defined contract timeline.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
