The Brink Group of Companies is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA or experienced accounting professional looking for a dynamic role with a diverse group of locally owned businesses.
Working closely with ownership and our accounting team, you'll play an integral role in managing the financial operations of multiple companies across manufacturing, warehousing, media, real estate, and related businesses. About the Role
The Accountant will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions for the Brink Group of Companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial operations across multiple entities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of businesses while collaborating with management and supporting strategic decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple companies
- Complete month-end and year-end accounting, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
- Prepare financial reporting, budgets, and variance analysis
- Manage cash flow, banking, and weekly payment processes
- Complete GST, PST, Employer Health Tax, WorkSafeBC, and other regulatory filings
- Coordinate with external accountants during year-end and tax preparation
- Assist with inventory valuation and cost accounting for our manufacturing operations
- Support payroll funding and accounting functions
- Work closely with management to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Assist with continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems
What We're Looking For
- CPA designation or equivalent accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian accounting principles
- Experience preparing financial statements and working through the full accounting cycle
- Experience with multi-company accounting is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax compliance, including GST, PST, Employer Health Tax, and WorkSafeBC
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Sage 50 is considered a strong asset
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
