About the Role
As the Manager of the House, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our residential brain injury program, ensuring high-quality care and services while supporting a dedicated team of staff. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines program management, staff supervision, client support, and collaboration with families and healthcare professionals.
You'll play an important role in creating a safe, respectful, and empowering environment where individuals are supported to achieve greater independence and quality of life.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Program Management
- Lead the daily operations of the House.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of residential staff.
- Manage staff scheduling and ensure appropriate shift coverage.
- Develop and maintain individualized support plans and program procedures.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful workplace culture.
Client Support
- Ensure person-centered care that promotes independence and community participation.
- Oversee personal care supports, medication administration, meal planning, and household operations.
- Coordinate and participate in Individual Program Plans (IPPs).
- Accompany clients to medical appointments when needed and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, medication protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Complete incident reports and follow up with appropriate professionals.
- Coordinate with pharmacies and healthcare providers regarding medications and medical supplies.
Administration & Communication
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Monitor client progress and update support strategies as needed.
- Manage household budgets for groceries and supplies.
- Act as the primary contact for families, caregivers, and community partners.
- Report to Human Resources and ExecutiveTeam
- Represent the program at meetings and collaborate with external agencies.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of management or supervisory experience, preferably in community housing, residential care, healthcare, or social services.
- Experience leading teams and managing day-to-day operations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to person-centered, strengths-based care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting individuals living with acquired brain injuries or other complex support needs.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record (preferred).
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to urgent situations outside regular business hours when required.
- Moderate physical fitness to assist with household tasks and client support.
