Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Subprime Manager to oversee financing solutions for customers with challenged credit at our Brampton car dealership. The Subprime Manager is responsible for securing financing through subprime lenders, structuring deals for profitability, and ensuring compliance with OMVIC regulations and dealership policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the subprime finance team and assist customers with credit-challenged financing
- Structure vehicle deals to maximize dealership profitability while meeting customer needs
- Work with banks, finance companies, and subprime lenders to secure approvals
- Review and verify customer credit applications and documentation for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with OMVIC, lender, and dealership regulations
- Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and lenders specializing in subprime financing
- Train and mentor sales staff on subprime financing procedures and deal structuring
- Monitor department performance, profitability, and risk management
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and ensure a positive customer experience
- Maintain accurate records and reporting of all financing transactions
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in automotive subprime finance or similar role
- Strong knowledge of subprime lenders, credit risk assessment, and deal structuring
- Thorough understanding of OMVIC regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Experience working with dealership management systems (CDK, Dealertrack, Reynolds & Reynolds) is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Business, or a related field is an asset
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
