HECO Limited has been serving the commercial and industrial refrigeration industry since 1980. As a growing contractor serving Hamilton, Niagara, Burlington, and the GTA, we specialize in refrigeration systems for food processing plants, cold storage facilities, grocery stores, ice rinks, and industrial applications.
We are currently looking for an experienced Refrigeration Journeyman to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
- Service compressors, evaporators, condensers, controls, piping systems, and related equipment
- Diagnose refrigeration, electrical, and control-related issues efficiently in the field
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
- Perform system startups, testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members
- Complete service documentation and job reporting accurately
- Participate in after-hours emergency service rotation as required
Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
- Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic License required
- Member of UA Local 787 or willingness to join
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- ODP Certification
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Commercial and industrial refrigeration experience required
- Controls experience considered an asset
- Previous ammonia and/or CO2 refrigeration experience considered an asset
- Gas Fitter license considered an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Professional attitude with strong customer service skills
