JOB SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an experienced Custom Wood Accessories Builder to join our growing team in Kitchener, Ontario.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of custom woodworking and manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the onsite Production Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
- Building and manufacturing wood accessories such as utensil inserts, spice racks, knife drawer inserts, dish organizers.
- Utilize a variety of tools and techniques to build custom products for clients.
- Operating machines such as saws, sanders, routers, and dovetailers to cut materials.
- Maintaining a safe work environment by following safety regulations and wearing appropriate safety equipment such as gloves, glasses, and earplugs.
- Decipher drawings
- Moves and loads, or unloads materials.
- Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
- Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules, government regulations and company policies and procedures
- Ensure the workplace is a safe and clean work environment.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years woodworking experience.
- 3 years hand and power tool experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Positive attitude respectful and friendly communication, and a team player
- Strong organizational skills including effective prioritization.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
