Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a passion for early childhood education. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly desirable, along with experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote active learning and development.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social interaction.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians as needed.
- Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special educational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities and ensure a cohesive educational approach.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's development and classroom activities.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times within the classroom setting.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in English.
- Experience with childcare, early childhood education, or classroom teaching.
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with children with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation efficiently.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while working collaboratively within a team.
- Effective time management skills to balance lesson planning, instruction, and assessment tasks.
- Computer literacy including basic operation of educational software and record-keeping tools.
- Compassionate approach to teaching that emphasizes patience, understanding, and inclusivity.
Job Type: Part-time
