Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized LMIA Processing Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process efficiently, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and providing exceptional support to clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong data entry abilities, and a customer-focused attitude. Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit complete LMIA applications to ESDC under various streams (High-Wage, Low-Wage, PR Stream, Global Talent Stream where applicable).
- Ensure all LMIA applications meet Service Canada checklists, prevailing wage requirements, and program-specific criteria.
- Draft and review business legitimacy documents, transition plans, job offers, and employer attestations.
- Communicate with employers to collect required documentation, clarify job duties, wages, and business details.
- Coordinate with RCICs and internal teams to ensure LMIA files are complete and submitted within deadlines.
- Track LMIA application progress and respond to Service Canada requests for information or clarifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer service.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to handle outbound calling and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of LMIA procedures or Canadian immigration processes is required.
- Strong analysis skills for reviewing application details and identifying discrepancies or issues
- Exceptional phone etiquette, interpersonal skills, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Requirement
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience preparing and assisting with LMIA applications in Canada.
- Strong working knowledge of ESDC / Service Canada LMIA requirements, recruitment rules, and wage structures.
- Familiarity with Job Bank, prevailing wage assessments, and employer compliance obligations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
