We are seeking a Medical Receptionist/Clinic Assistant to join a busy, fast-paced medical clinic. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a quick learner, friendly, professional, and able to thrive under pressure.
The ideal candidate communicates clearly and professionally, takes initiative, addresses issues as they arise, and is interested in growing within a healthcare environment. Training will be provided; however, candidates should already be comfortable with the basics of working at a reception desk, including phones, faxing, invoicing, printing, saving files, and general computer use.

Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma
- Fluent in English and able to understand a variety of accents
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is an asset, but not required
- Familiarity with the Canadian healthcare system is preferred

Job duties
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate appointments and procedures based on priority and urgency
- Answer phone, email, and in-person inquiries professionally and courteously
- Enter, format, and maintain electronic medical reports and correspondence
- Initiate and maintain confidential patient files and medical records
- Troubleshoot minor IT issues and communicate with IT support when necessary
- Maintain correspondence with referring healthcare providers regarding patient care and appointment status
- Help organize and manage patient flow throughout the clinic
- Verify and collect provincial health card and insurance information related to billing
- Assist with the sterilization of procedural instruments and maintain appropriate documentation
- Process payments for uninsured services, including collecting required payment information and signatures and preparing invoices
- Assist physicians and the clinical team as required
- Perform other administrative and clinic-related duties as assigned
