Who We Are:
Orin Management Group Inc is a full-service real estate company specializing in the leasing and management of commercial and multi-family residential properties.
We take care of the complete picture when it comes to your property. Delivering streamlined processes, reducing operating costs, and leveraging data through our technology platform — helping you make smarter leasing and management decisions.
Let us take care of your properties and the people who call them home.
The role We're looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties. You'll work three days a week alongside our finance and property management teams, with flexibility on which days. This is a great fit for someone who wants meaningful, senior-level work without a full-time commitment.
What you'll do
- Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned properties, including AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements, budget vs. actual reporting, and owner reports
- Handle CAM reconciliations, recoveries, and year-end working papers
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers
- Support property managers with budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis
- Maintain accurate records in our property management software (Yardi / similar)
Technical skills we're looking for
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 in property management or real estate
- Strong working knowledge of Yardi or similar PM accounting platforms
- Solid Excel skills and comfort with high-volume transaction work
Soft skills that will help you thrive here
- Self-starter mindset. Part-time means you'll need to plan your own time, prioritize ruthlessly, and keep momentum without daily check-ins.
- Clear, plain-language communicator. You'll explain numbers to property managers and owners who aren't accountants — clarity matters more than jargon.
- Collaborative and approachable. Our finance and property management teams work side by side. We're looking for someone who picks up the phone, asks questions early, and shares context generously.
- Calm under deadline pressure. Month-end, year-end, and audit season come every year. We need someone who stays organized and unflappable when things stack up.
- Curious and improvement-minded. If you spot a process that could be cleaner or a report that could be more useful, we want to hear about it.
- Discretion and integrity. You'll be working with confidential financial information for owners, tenants, and the firm. Trust is non-negotiable.
