About the Opportunity
Erritt Construction Ltd. is a growing heavy civil contractor specializing in underground infrastructure, tunnelling and microtunnelling projects.
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented and motivated Construction Estimator to join our team in Vaughan.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional with approximately 2 years of experience who is looking to develop their estimating and commercial skills while gaining exposure to large and technically challenging infrastructure projects.
Previous tunnelling or microtunnelling experience is not required. We are more interested in finding someone who is analytical, highly organized, comfortable working with numbers and eager to learn.
What You'll Do
Working closely with our estimating, project management and senior management teams, you will:
- Review construction drawings, specifications, tender documents and addenda.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs.
- Prepare labour, equipment, material and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Obtain, organize and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Assist in developing construction methodologies, equipment requirements and production assumptions.
- Identify tender risks, opportunities, exclusions and clarifications.
- Prepare detailed pricing breakdowns and tender documentation.
- Participate in tender reviews and bid closings.
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required.
- Work closely with project managers and field personnel to understand how projects are constructed.
- Assist with project handovers following successful tenders.
- Maintain organized historical pricing, productivity and estimating information.

Experience & Qualifications
- Approximately 2+ years of construction estimating, project coordination, engineering or related construction experience preferred.
- Heavy civil, underground utilities, sewer and watermain, excavation or municipal infrastructure experience is an asset.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Bluebeam or estimating software is an asset.
- Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology or related education is an asset.
- Equivalent practical construction experience will also be considered.
