The Red Deer Protective Safe House is seeking a Registered Psychologist to provide assessment, intervention, consultation, supervision, and clinical leadership within an involuntary withdrawal management and treatment facility serving youth. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families through evidence-based psychological care within a multidisciplinary team environment. As a Psychologist I, you will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including formal testing, and develop individualized treatment plans. You will provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, and developmentally appropriate interventions for youth with complex addiction and mental health needs. The role includes consultation with physicians, nurses, counselors, social workers, and other professionals to support coordinated, client-centered care. In addition to direct clinical service, this position provides supervision, mentorship, and clinical guidance to Allied Health staff, supporting professional growth, clinical excellence, and best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong ethical practice, cultural humility, professionalism, adaptability, and effective communication skills. This role collaborates provincially with youth addiction services colleagues to support consistency in practice, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development. Responsibilities include implementing, monitoring, and evaluating measurement-based care processes and ensuring the reliability and fidelity of outcome measures across sites. As this is a program development year, the ability and interest to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based programming will be essential. The successful candidate will help shape and strengthen services, contributing to innovative approaches that improve outcomes for youth and families.
As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth and families at a Masters level. Experience developing evidence-based programming is required. Demonstrated skill in delivering evidence-based interventions to youth and families/caregivers. Demonstrated skills in clinical supervision. As this is a significant year of growth and development for the program, and a growth mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal assessment competency is preferred. Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and trauma-integrated environments. Knowledge of culturally safe and inclusive practices when working with diverse populations. Experience working within an inpatient treatment environment is considered an asset.
