Job Summary
The Investor Relations and Operations Intern will work alongside the National Program Manager, Managing Director and Advisory Board members. The role will involve the use of digital tools and platforms, including Google Workspace, Google Sheets, Google Drive, DocuSign, Mailchimp, Canva, LinkedIn, and AI tools. This position offers hands-on experience in the early-stage investment community and the opportunity to enhance your entrepreneurial mindset.
Responsibilities
- Annual Reporting: Help create Annual Reports for our Limited Partners (LPs) by collecting and analyzing portfolio company data, tracking KPIs, and summarizing insights.
- Investment Group Support: WEL has 8 regional Investment Groups (IGs) run by volunteer Managing Partners (MPs). You provide support to the IGs, including helping to triage MPs' emails, routing items to the right people, maintaining records, and keeping internal files organized.
- Grant and Sponsor Applications and Reporting: Gathering and organizing the financial, operational, and project information needed for funder and partner applications and reporting.
- General Operations: Preparing briefing notes, summaries, task lists, coordination emails, and other materials that help a small organization run well.
- Finance Administration: Liaising with WEL’s bookkeeper, organizing invoices and receipts, tracking expenses, and supporting clean financial records.
- Special Projects: Support various tasks, from day-to-day operations to unique projects.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled full or part-time in a Canadian college or university
- Hold Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or refugee status
- Be studying in a relevant program area, such as business, commerce, communications, information systems, public administration, project management, or a related field
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada

- Skillfully uses Google Workspace, including Google Sheets and Google Slides
- Has familiarity with marketing tools such as MailChimp, Instagram, LinkedIn and Canva.
- Effectively leverages AI tools, especially Claude and Gemini, to more effectively perform administration tasks while taking accountability for oversight and quality control.

The Details:
- Work Term: June to August 31, 2026, with possibility of extension
- Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
- Working Hours: Flexible hours; however, at least 5 of your 20 weekly hours should fall within the 1–5 pm ET (10 am–2 pm PT) window to allow for team collaboration
- Location: Remote
- Compensation: $24 per hour.
