We are seeking an experienced Store Design & Construction Manager to oversee the development of new retail locations across Canada.
This is a high-visibility opportunity for a strong project leader with extensive experience managing retail construction and store development projects from initial planning through final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of multiple retail development projects from initial planning to store opening.
- Establish project plans, timelines, budgets, and key milestones.
- Work with architects, contractors, landlords, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout each project.
- Coordinate design requirements and ensure plans are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with the overall retail concept.
- Lead the tendering and contractor selection process and negotiate project requirements.
- Monitor construction progress, costs, quality, and deadlines.
- Visit project sites regularly and provide direction on construction-related issues.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, handovers, and all requirements necessary for a successful store opening.
- Anticipate potential delays, budget pressures, and construction challenges and develop solutions proactively.
- Work closely with internal teams to coordinate fixtures, equipment, materials, and other store-opening requirements.
- Provide clear project reporting and maintain accurate records throughout the development process.

Requirements
10 years of experience in retail construction, commercial construction, store development, or architectural project management.
Strong knowledge of the Canadian construction and retail environment.
Proven experience managing projects from concept/design through completion.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, budgets, contracts, permitting, and project schedules.
Experience working with architects, general contractors, landlords, and consultants.
Ability to manage several projects at different stages simultaneously.
Strong financial and commercial judgment.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar programs is an asset.
PMP, architectural, construction, or related certification is an asset.
Pay: $115,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
