At SMS Equipment, our Regional Sales Managers work closely with the Branch Operations Managers to achieve the assigned and agreed sales goals through effective management of the sales team. They are responsible for coaching their sales team on the behaviors and activities that will deliver consistent market share growth and build customer loyalty. We are looking for someone who is charismatic, collaborative and a strong leader to join our sales team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaboration and coordination with Manufacturer’s District Sales Manager on a continuous basis, in an effort to achieve maximum support and direction involving transactions of 3 units or less. Coordinate and develop packaged deals of all multi-unit (4 or more) transactions, with the Director, Equipment Sales to achieve maximum OEM support. Approves ALL sales transactions within authority level and motivate as per the authority matrix.
Sales Planning and Execution. Monitor market forecasting by using the forecasting tools provided on a weekly basis. Identify business opportunities and potential problem areas such as market growth opportunities, market threats, and challenges. Monitor competitor activities and participate in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies. In collaboration with the branch Operations Managers develop and implement sales and marketing plans and strategies that will results in market share gains and increases in sales revenues to meet and exceed assigned targets.
Leadership. Coach and lead the day-to-day sales behaviors and activities of the sales representatives primarily for the construction, forestry & utility market segments. Train, coach, motivate, develop and manage Sales Representatives. Oversee the consistent application and implementation of the sales and sales management skills development program. Be actively involved in new sales representatives’ orientation and training.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience within the Construction, Forestry and Utility equipment distribution industry with a strong marketing/sales orientation. Additional qualifications include previous experience with:

Acting as a trusted consultant to our customers to present the best solution to their business problem through the sales team.
Identify problems, research, and present options and recommendation to address the identified problem. Ability to identify and recognize opportunities, for both existing and future customers
