Studio Assistant (Part-Time, Afternoons & Evenings)

Mechanics of Music is a vibrant, community-focused music school offering private and group lessons, workshops, and live events. We’re looking for an organized, energetic Studio Assistant to help keep things running smoothly and support our growing team.
About the Role
This is a flexible, hands-on position ideal for a student or someone looking to gain experience in a creative, fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with the owner to help with day-to-day operations—everything from organizing the studio to assisting at live music events.
Schedule:
- Approximately 10–25 hours per week
- Afternoon and evening shifts (approximately 2:00–8:00pm)
- Sunday through Thursday
- Occasional weekend events
Responsibilities
- Greet students and parents, create a welcoming atmosphere
- Answer phone calls and emails
- Keep the studio tidy (light cleaning, dishes, organizing, etc.)
- Care for studio cats (feeding, litter, etc.)
- Assist with scheduling and lesson coordination
- Support social media, graphic design, and video editing projects
- Help at live events and community performances
Who You Are
- Friendly, reliable, and eager to learn
- Organized, with good attention to detail
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks
- Enjoys working in a lively, music-filled environment
- Interested in music, arts, or creative work (a bonus, not required)
- English proficiency required; additional languages are an asset
- Experience with social media, Canva, or video editing is a plus
