Electronics Test Technician
The Electronics Test Technician will assist in conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of electronic equipment. This position involves diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic circuit problems, as well as learning from senior technicians. The Technician will apply foundational theoretical and practical knowledge to install, rebuild, or repair electronic equipment. This role also includes supporting equipment improvement initiatives.
Job Duties:
- Assist in production line testing of electronic products, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning electronic circuitry, learning best practices from senior technicians.
- Perform bench repairs on electronic and electromechanical assemblies, including basic components.
- Identify, repair, and replace electrical components to minimize downtime.
- Support recommendations for modifications or replacements of electrical equipment to optimize performance.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- Manage tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring availability for all jobs.
- Follow established standards and procedures in all operations.
- Learn from and assist senior technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with industry trends and participate in training opportunities.
- Assist with project tasks as needed, ensuring timely completion.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of component-level electronics with developing troubleshooting skills.
- Completion of college/vocational or technical training in electronics, with a willingness to pursue continuous learning.
- 2 years of related work experience in an electronics or technician role.
- Commitment to accuracy and detail-oriented, with a focus on improvement.
- Good oral and written communication skills, with an understanding of reporting and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with hand tools and basic electronic equipment.
- Ability to work independently with guidance from senior technicians.
- Understanding of RF, high voltage, analog, and digital components is a plus.
- Basic project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Work Conditions:
- Lead work in environments requiring the use of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protection Equipment
- Ability to function in physically demanding conditions, including standing, crouching, bending, reaching, and stooping for long periods.
- Requires excellent manual dexterity
- Lifting up to 40 pounds required at times.
- Engage in regular interaction with management, clients, and team members.
- Willingness to work overtime as required, with flexibility to manage urgent tasks.
