Position Summary
Spectrum Home & Family Care is urgently hiring Health Care Aides (HCAs) to support an elderly female client in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
This position provides 29.7 hours per week, and we are flexible in scheduling. We are open to hiring:
- One caregiver available Monday to Friday, or
- One caregiver available Saturday and Sunday, or
- A combination of caregivers to share the schedule.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks as required
- Support daily routines and provide structure
- Monitor well-being and safety cues throughout the day
- Encourage independence, pacing, and healthy habits
- Perform light housekeeping and general tidying
- Complete laundry, dishes, and basic home organization
- Prepare simple meals and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
- Accompany the client on short outings or appointments when required
- Support safe mobility, particularly on low-energy or difficult days
- Encourage engagement, activity, and positive daily routines
- Complete progress notes after each shift (mandatory)
- Follow Spectrum policies and the established care plan
- Communicate updates or concerns to management as needed
Required Certifications & Conditions
- Registered Health Care Aide (HCA) in Alberta (required)
- Clear Criminal Record Check (must be current)
- First Aid & CPR (can be obtained upon hire)
- WHMIS 2018
- Valid Alberta driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Must be fragrance-free (no scented products, detergents, sprays, etc.)
- Adherence to Spectrum’s confidentiality and safety policies
