Job brief
We are looking for a full time Payroll Clerk to support our payroll and associated administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will provide professional and confidential support to the team members while ensuring accuracy and overall compliance to employment standards and best practices.
Payroll Tasks
- Coordinate biweekly payroll processing for hourly employees
- Coordinate payroll processing for shift employees
- Ensure accurate updates to employee information, accruals, and deductions
- Import timesheet hours from NetSuite and validate project codes
- Verify and process employee expense reimbursements through payroll
- Process employee ROEs and annual T4s
- Remit CPP, EI, tax withholdings within required deadlines
- Export project cost reports from payroll for import into NetSuite
Administration Support
- Add or terminate employees in NetSuite
- Add project charge codes to employee profile in NetSuite
- Add or terminate employees on the benefit plan
- Audit employee benefit deductions and monthly invoices
- HR correspondence (employee verification letters, immigration application letters, etc.)
- Print and collate compensation letters (at comp time)
- Support administration of employee share plan (helping Sander update spreadsheets and/or printing?)
- Provide backup to reception desk for absences/vacations as appropriate
- Data entry account payable processing tasks
Requirements
- Must have 2+ years of experience in a payroll processing role with responsibility for 100 or more timesheet employees, preferably with both exempt and non-exempt employees
- Understanding of Canadian Federal and Provincial employment laws and regulations
- Designation as Payroll Compliance Professional is a plus
- Proficiency with Payworks payroll software (or similar) and MS Excel, SharePoint and NetSuite
- Excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy
- Ability to manage large volumes of confidential information with discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
