SAF-HOLLAND Canada Limited is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of premium product systems and components for the global commercial vehicle industry. We are seeking to fill a current vacancy for the following full-time hourly position at our Woodstock facility:
Welder – Afternoon Shift (3:30 PM – 2:00 AM, Monday to Thursday)
Starting Wage: $28.78/hour to start (inclusive of shift premium and COLA, subject to adjustment)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented welder to join our production team on the afternoon shift. In this role, you will leverage your welding and fabrication expertise to manufacture high-quality components that keep the global commercial vehicle industry moving safely.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate welding equipment (GMAW/MIG preferred) safely and efficiently to fuse metal components.
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints, welding symbols, engineering drawings, and job specifications.
- Inspect welded joints and components using manual and digital gauges to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitor and maintain welding equipment, including replacing consumables (tips, nozzles, wire) to optimize performance.
- Maintain accurate quality records, ensuring all structural and cosmetic specifications are met according to company standards.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and operational protocols; including the proper use of PPE, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven, hands-on welding experience (GMAW/MIG) in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of welding principles, weld settings, wire feed speeds, and voltage adjustments.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret industrial blueprints and welding symbols.
- High proficiency using precision measuring instruments and tools (welding gauges, tape measures, calipers).
- Relevant welding certifications (e.g., CWB) or equivalent trade experience is highly preferred.
- Physical demands require the ability to handle weights up to 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods.
*Note:* The candidate must successfully pass an internal written and practical weld test.
