Job Summary
The ECEA will plan aid the development of all childcare programs and classrooms suited to the philosophy and vision of the centre. The ECEA will provide opportunities for creative expression and exploration via emergent curriculum and project-based learning.
Duties and Responsibilities
o Maintains policy and licensing regulations per Community Care and Assisted Living Act Child Care Licensing Regulation and follows the Early Learning Framework
o Maintains confidentiality of all information gained while working with the organization – including children, families, and staff
o Demonstrates respect for the children, families and co-workers
o Represents Exploring the Puddle in a professional and positive manner
o Provides a program based on the vision and philosophy of the centre
o Ensures a secure, organized, safe and healthy environment for the children at all times
o Collaborates with parents/families regarding their child’s goals and experiences
o Works positively and effectively to complete tasks in an individual setting and team setting
o Is punctual and reliable in order to maintain proper educator-child ratios as required by licensing.
o Is willing to hear and open to critical feedback and suggestions from management
o Engages fully in training on the centre’s Education Model and implements it accordingly

Skills and Abilities:
o Ability to forge strong, positive and communicative relationships with each family and child
o Ability to work positively and productively in a team setting and able to work without direction when necessary
o Must be punctual, reliable, and organized in order to adapt to change. Must be flexible to work in all programs; 3-5 daycare room, Infant Toddler room, Preschool room, After School care, and Multi-age Summer Camp room.
o Must be able to plan appropriate activities and explorations for classroom
Qualifications and Requirements
o BC Early Childhood Education Assistant Certification
o Valid and up-to-date First Aid Certification
o Cleared Criminal Records Check under Schedule E in accordance with the Ministry of Justice
o 3 Positive work-related References
o Letter stating Immunizations are up to date
o Food Safe Certification would be an asset

Pay: $22.00-$31.00 per hour
