CWB Structural Welder (Shop Fabrication)

Mar-Quinn Industries Ltd. is a well-established fabrication shop with over 45 years of experience. We are a steady, safety-focused operation looking for an experienced CWB Structural Welder who takes pride in quality workmanship and can work independently in a shop environment.
What You’ll Do
- Structural steel fabrication and assembly
- Skid and modular fabrication work
- Read and work from blueprints and weld symbols
- MIG, TIG, and Stick welding in all positions
- Fit, assemble, and inspect completed welds
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Wage Structure
Wages are based on experience, certification, and independence:
- Apprentices: Alberta apprenticeship wage progression
- Journeyman Structural Welder (CWB): $38 – $40/hr
- Senior Fabricators (highly independent): Up to $40/hr shop maximum
Final rate is based on demonstrated skill and fit within our shop structure.
Two-Week Evaluation Period
All new hires complete a 2-week evaluation period to confirm skill level, work quality, and independence.
During this time:
- Agreed starting rate applies
- Performance, safety, and workmanship are assessed
- Rate may be adjusted within the posted range up to $40/hr max based on demonstrated ability
What We’re Looking For
- Valid CWB certification (required)
- Strong structural welding experience
- Ability to read and work from drawings independently
- Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Forklift experience is an asset
