Join Our Maintenance Team
Original Foods is seeking a motivated and hands-on Industrial Electrician or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join our growing maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone with food manufacturing experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving equipment reliability, and contributing to new equipment installations and capital projects.
We are also willing to consider 3rd or 4th Year Registered Apprentices who are eager to continue developing their skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment and control systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Read and interpret, blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
- Diagnose motors, pumps, gearboxes and steam systems
- Assist in both electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and recommend long-term corrective actions
- Work safely while following all Health & Safety and food safety requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
Qualifications
- Ontario 442A Industrial Electrician, 309A Electrician, or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification.
- Registered 3rd or 4th Year Apprentices are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and industrial automation is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
