Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital was started in 2009 and is a privately owned, family operated veterinary hospital located in Surrey, BC. BBVSH employs over 200 staff across multiple departments in one building, including our board-certified specialists. Our specialty departments include Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, and Rehabilitation.
About the Role
The ECC Liaison supports the Emergency and Critical Care department by coordinating communication between clients, the ER/ICU team, and front-end staff. The role helps guide clients through triage, treatment, hospitalization, and discharge while supporting efficient patient flow and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely patient updates and communication to clients
- Coordinate communication between ER/ICU and front-end teams
- Support patient flow through triage, treatment, hospitalization, and discharge
- Review estimates and collect treatment deposits
- Coordinate discharge instructions, medications, invoicing, and final payments
- Provide financial updates for hospitalized patients
- Maintain accurate client communication and patient documentation
- Monitor communication lists and relevant ECC emails
- Support workflow and KPI tracking as required

- Ability to work collaboratively with ER doctors, ICU staff, RVTs, assistants, and CSRs.
- Ability to communicate effectively between clinical and front-end teams.
- Maintains organization and efficiency while managing multiple patient workflows simultaneously.
- Effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Strong understanding of hospital workflow and emergency patient processes.
- Comfortable discussing estimates, deposits, account balances, and financial updates with
- Clients in a professional and compassionate manner.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 4 x 10-hour shifts per week
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
