Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, or portioning items under supervision.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by bussing tables and clearing dishes promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and dining spaces to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Help with food handling procedures in accordance with safety regulations to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness.
- Support catering and banquet events by setting up serving stations and assisting with food presentation when needed.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines diligently to promote a safe working environment for everyone.
- Assist in inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need replenishing or maintenance issues that require attention.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Basic understanding of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks comfortably.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues during busy shifts.
- Attention to detail when cleaning and organizing to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Experience with banquet service or catering is a plus but not mandatory.
