GIS Intern, Adams Lake, British Columbia
Ready to take what you’re learning in school and put it to work? At Interfor, we’re looking for future leaders who are curious, hands-on, and eager to learn. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, build practical skills, and gain a better understanding of the work that supports responsible forestry and the wood products industry. If you enjoy mapping, technology, and using information to solve real operational challenges, this internship offers the chance to see how spatial data supports forestry decisions.
This is an on-site internship with an anticipated start date in May. Ideally, you’ll be available for a 4 to 8 month term.

Salaries starting from $3,350 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience).

What You’ll Do

Gain hands-on experience using GIS technology to support forestry and operational projects.

Create, update, and analyze maps and spatial data used in real-world decision making.

Explore how GIS connects field activities, reporting, and sustainable forest management.

Support projects that improve data accuracy, accessibility, and operational efficiency.

Build technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills while learning from experienced professionals.
What You Offer

You are working toward a degree or diploma in GIS, Geography, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related program.

You have experience with GIS tools such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online, and are comfortable using Microsoft Excel.

You can analyze information and communicate findings clearly, both verbally and in writing.

You take ownership of high-quality, timely work and are comfortable solving problems independently.
You are interested in how spatial data and technology support broader operational and business goals.
