HMA Construction is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Site Supervisor to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for coordinating trades, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, enforcing safety standards, and acting as the primary on-site representative of HMA Construction.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, solutions-oriented, and capable of managing multiple stakeholders while maintaining a professional and positive site environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Operations & Project Execution
- Oversee all daily site operations from project mobilization through project closeout.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Ensure work is completed according to project drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively to avoid delays and additional costs.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
- Assist with project planning, sequencing, and scheduling activities.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule trades, deliveries, inspections, and equipment to maintain project timelines.
- Coordinate work activities to ensure efficient workflow between trades.
- Review short-term and long-term schedules and communicate upcoming requirements to all stakeholders.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and manpower are available when required.
Quality Control
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
- Complete detailed site walkthroughs and maintain quality control records.
- Ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations.
Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce all health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Ensure all workers and subcontractors comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
- Maintain all required site safety documentation and records.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary on-site representative of HMA Construction.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, inspectors, municipal officials, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Participate in site meetings and provide accurate progress reports.
- Address site concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily site reports, including manpower, activities, deliveries, inspections, weather conditions, and site progress.
- Document deficiencies, delays, changes, and site issues.
- Assist with tracking change orders and extra work.
- Ensure project records, permits, inspection reports, and closeout documentation are maintained and organized.
Cost Control & Waste Management
- Monitor site productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Assist in controlling labour, material, and equipment costs.
- Adhere to the company's waste management policy and promote responsible use of materials.
- Minimize waste through proper planning, storage, and material handling practices.
- Ensure sites remain organized, clean, and professional at all times.
Project Closeout
- Coordinate deficiency completion and final inspections.
- Ensure all project documentation is completed and submitted.
- Support project turnover and client handover activities.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.
- Experience managing projects with construction values exceeding $2 million.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with construction management software and digital reporting tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
Preferred
- Health and Safety certifications.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
