Fun on the Run Pre-School Centre welcomes applications from individuals who may be eligible to work as Director Approved Educator under the Child Care and Early Years Act. We encourage applicants who are currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child and Youth Care (CYC), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Social Service Worker (SSW), or any other child/education related post-secondary program to apply.
Qualifications
As a Fun on the Run staff member, you will need to provide the following documents:
Ø A current Police Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (Within 6 months)
Ø An up-to-date immunization record, including a 2 Step Tuberculosis (TB) test
Ø A clear and detailed medical record
Ø A valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
Ø A copy of completion of the Worker Health and Safety Awareness online certification
Ø A copy of completion of the Food Handler certification

Responsibilities
As a Fun on the Run team member, your duties include but are not limited to:
Ø Maintaining the work environment in a clean and organized manner
Ø Providing high quality child care for children, supporting their daily wants and needs while ensuring their safety and well-being
Ø Maintaining daily records of children’s arrival/departure, meals, sleep, toileting, injuries and activities, as well as documenting on HiMama
Ø Developing an emergent program plan each week that meets the physical, intellectual, cognitive and emotional needs of each child in the class. This program must be based on interests and skills of the children. The program plan must be linked to the early learning documents,"ELECT" and “How Does Learning Happen”
Ø Serving and feeding (if applicable) children daily breakfast, lunch and snacks
Ø Assisting children with diapering routine and toileting (lifting of minimum of 50 pounds)
Ø Establishing positive and professional daily communication with children, families, caregivers and team members
Ø Following Fun on the Run’s philosophy, along with all the policies and procedures that are set in place
Ø Maintaining all personal information related to Fun on the Run, ensuring it remains confidential at all times
Ø Following and abiding by the behavior management, anti-racism and child abuse policies enforced by Fun on the Run
Ø Reporting to the supervisor if you have any concerns about a child, family or any situation
Ø Treating all children, families, caregivers, team members, and all members of the community with dignity and respect
Ø Working cooperatively with other team members at Fun on the Run. The concept of teamwork must be integrated on a daily basis.
Ø Supervising placement students volunteering at Fun on the Run, as well as evaluating their progress with the proper tools provided by their place of education
Ø Attending all Fun on the Run team meetings
Pay: $22.86 per hour
