JOB TITLE: Part Time Bookkeeper & HR Assistant
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is for one person, two days a week for each role,
Hours are flexible.
Possible hybrid office/home once training is completed.
Part Time Bookkeeper & HR Assistant
Bookkeeper is responsible for bookkeeping and finance support to the accountant.
Part-Time Administrative HR Assistant provides human resources and administrative and recruitment support
Bookkeeping:
- Accounts Payable - Prepare and process invoices and backup with ledger accounts and management approvals.
- Manage payment requisitions, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Weekly Accounts Payable – record invoices using Sage 50, prepare payments for processing, file invoices.
- Manage payments for Daycare contracts, updating the financial forecasting.
- Prepare reconciliation of banks/visas/other general ledger accounts.
Human Resources Assistant:
- Supports hiring process by assisting with applicant screening, interview coordination, document management, and recruitment outreach.
- Conduct initial phone calls with applicants using a standardized set of screening questions to determine eligibility and suitability for positions.
- Schedule and coordinate in-person interviews.
- Prepare interview packages and recruitment materials.
- Maintaining applicant tracking records.
- Conduct reference calls.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
- Assist with drafting routine HR correspondence.
- Track staff training and certification requirements.
- Posting job opportunities.
- Support outreach efforts to community partners, employment programs, and job fairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- 2-3 years basic Bookkeeping experience and/or education.
- 1-3 years Human Resources, business admin, or related field.
- Must perform regular Professional Development in Accounting/HR/ other job-related skills
- Non-Profit knowledge an asset.
- Indigenous knowledge an asset.
- Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, database management, internet, and MS Office on Windows platform.
