Alpha Adroit is seeking geotechnical engineering or civil engineering EIT or technologists who own a truck and are willing to use their vehicle for work (we pay standard mileage rates).
This position will include the responsibilities of a geotechnical engineering E.I.T. and civil/geotechnical engineering technologist for the type of services conducted by Alpha Adroit . More information on the kind of services we provide is available at Alpha Adroit Services.
This position will require traveling across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. Having a Class 5 driver's license is a MUST, and the candidate may be required to drive company vehicles.
Requirements:
- Having a class 5 Driver's license is a requirement
- Owning a proper truck and using it for work is a requirement (we pay standard mileage rate)
- A degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or technologist is a requirement (third year plus students will also be considered)
- Safety training requirements: TDG Class 7 (Radiation Safety for Portable Guage Users), H2S Alive, WHIMIS, CSTS, Standard First Aid and CPR, Confined Space Entry, and Wildlife Awareness
- Living in Edmonton or relocating to Edmonton (or a nearby location) is a requirement.
- Professional communication skills
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Technical Skills:
- Visual classification of soils and rocks with reasonable accuracy is deemed an asset.
- Training in Ground Disturbance Level II is viewed as an asset.
- Experience in soil compaction testing using a nuclear density gauge is considered an asset.
- Experience in concrete construction QA/QC is viewed as an asset.
- Experience in laboratory testing of soils, rock, concrete, oil sand, tailings, and asphalt is regarded as an asset.
- Experience in geotechnical design is viewed as an asset.
- Competency in using Auto CAD is considered an asset.
- CCIL certificate for concrete testing or aggregate testing is viewed as an asset.
