We are currently looking for a Accounting Coordinator to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the reconciliation of Avocado transactions, managing Avocado's accounts receivable, supporting and overseeing the Avocado point of sale, as well as providing support for the Canada Summer Job Program, After-School Program, and other administrative tasks.
START DATE: As Soon As Possible
LOCATION: Durham, Sudbuury
RATE OF PAY: $40,000 - 43,000 / Anually
HOURS: 40 Hours / Weekly
What You’ll Do
- Manage accounts receivable associated with Avocado
- Reconcile daily cash receipts between the bank and Avocado, ensuring proper sign-off and approval
- Prepare and deposit daily cash receipts into the bank
- Handle third-party transactions related to subsidy payments in Avocado
- Pull customer payment data from Avocado on the 1st, 15th, 20th, and every Friday
- Provide support and coordination with the front desk for facility bookings in Sudbury and North Bay
- Export and save EFT batch files from Avocado in “.txt” format to the Finance folder, then upload them to the bank for EFT payment processing and approval
- Export, store, and upload credit card batch files from Avocado to Bambora for payment processing
- Prepare and submit funding applications for the Canada Summer Job (CSJ) program
- Review CSJ staff declarations and submit them to Service Canada
- Track scheduled hours on a biweekly basis to ensure staff meet the minimum required hours
- Reconcile and deposit camp tuck shop revenue into the bank
- Distribute cheques by mail weekly
- Manage the office printers
- Maintain month-end schedule for owned and leased assets
- Update the annual insurance renewal comparison in Excel
- Review processes to ensure optimal funding is realized
What You’ll Bring
- College diploma in Accounting or related field *for education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES with their application
- Minimum of one to two (1-2) years of accounting experience
- Familiarity with Avocado and Certify an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior Customer Service Skills
- Advanced computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong understanding of computerized accounting, registration/billings administration
- Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
