Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position will be responsible for a variety of duties and functions, primary role will be to support our current payroll process from start to finish, including data entry, reviewing, working with operations to finalize hours and reconciling data all on a biweekly payroll. Working closely with Payroll Manager and HR on employee set up, transfers and changes.
Assist with the full cycle processing of a Bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salary employees
Entry of employee onboarding, off boarding, transfers, and other changes into Explorer ERP system; interface with HR staff and Field operations
Issue Government ROE’s on the Service Canada Website
Reconcile and check accuracy of employee hours from Field Cap for processing
Reconcile benefit deductions to the monthly billing statements
Prepare CRA payroll remittances as per schedule
Prepare payroll reports as requested by internal recipients
Assist with the preparation of T4s, T2200’s and other year-end Statutory requirements
Prepare and process Government or Court Ordered Garnishee’s
Assist with documenting and updating policies and procedures
Perform additional assignments when required
3-5 years’ experience processing full cycle payroll
Payroll Compliance Practitioner or working towards is preferred
Payroll legislation knowledge is required
Knowledge of oil and gas construction services is an asset
Strong knowledge of working with Excel and other MS Office applications
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Must be able to manage and execute multiple tasks
A team player with excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
Experience with Eclipse/Explorer ERP is helpful, but not required
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Accurately process payroll within designated time frame
Resolve any pay or system issues in a timely manner
Prepare, submit monthly and yearly government requirements within strict guidelines
