Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Clinical Home Support Team, the Physiotherapist Assistant will report to the Program Manager as well as implement restorative care programs as directed by the Physiotherapist to meet the various physical, emotional, intellectual, social needs of residents and assists in monitoring their needs and progress.

Implements restorative care programs.

Evaluates residents’ progress.

Reports any significant changes to the Physiotherapist and nursing staff as appropriate.

Attends in-service education programs.

Participates in development and revision of programs under the guidance of the Physiotherapist.

Maintains program and resident records.

Adheres to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment and infection control.

Works cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs.

Other duties as assigned by Kinesiologist.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of physiotherapist assistant course.
- Diploma of physiotherapist assistant
- Knowledge of working with geriatric residents
- Demonstrate organizational skills
- Demonstrate the ability to apply concepts in relation to physical needs of our residents
- Ability to read and write English as well as to understand complex verbal and written instruction in English.
