Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Accounting & Finance Recruitment, has partnered with a respected and growing Winnipeg-based organization to recruit a Financial Analyst to join their corporate team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional who is looking to gain exposure to financial reporting and technical accounting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting while working closely with senior finance leadership and external auditors.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with financial statement preparation, disclosures, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Participate in month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Analyze accounting issues and contribute to technical accounting and financial reporting projects.
- Collaborate with auditors and finance team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Maintain accounting records and reporting schedules related to company assets and investments.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
- Provide support on special projects, financial analysis, and other initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or actively pursuing the CPA program.
- 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills are preferred.
