We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented staff accountant to join our team. If you are an intermediate or senior level accountant that is eager to build on your knowledge, polish your soft and technical skills, and develop and grow in a professional environment with excellent mentorship, then this role is for you. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Client and Document Management: Updating and maintaining client communication records and ensuring all working papers are accurate and up-to-date.
- Tax Preparation and Filing: Preparing and filing a range of tax returns, including T1 Personal, T2 Corporate, T3 Trust, and HST returns. You will also organize all necessary working papers for these returns and for tax planning files.
- Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting: Handling regular bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Online or Excel and assisting with the compilation of financial statements.
- Administrative Support: Performing various other accounting and administrative tasks as required to support the team.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Required Qualifications
- A Canadian accounting degree that includes Taxation I and Taxation II courses, or be currently working towards your Canadian CPA designation.
- Previous experience in a public accounting firm (co-op experience counts!).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with Notion and Taxprep or other tax filing software.
- Bookkeeping experience, particularly with Quickbooks Online.
- Familiarity with the day-to-day operations and administration of client services, including relationship building.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese. This is a nice-to-have, but not required for the position.

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
