Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of engineering and project execution, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Project Engineer-in-Training/Technologist who is eager to learn and grow within our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, ready to take on various tasks and contribute to different aspects of our projects. As a Junior Project Engineer-in-Training/Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop both your technical and project management skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers and technologists in the engineering design and execution of energy and resource extraction and processing facilities.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and solutions.
- Develop the ability to perform various calculations, reports, data analysis, and other technical tasks under the mentorship of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure project milestones are met on time, progress is documented, and action items are managed to completion.
- Acquire a strong working knowledge of and stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- 4th-year capstone or other final-year project from university, college or technical post-secondary school applicable to the energy industry is considered an asset.
- Internships, post-secondary work co-ops, or project experience in an engineering role is considered a strong asset.
- Extracurricular activities are considered an asset.
Education/Experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university/college or diploma in similar program(s) from an accredited technical institute.
- 0 - 4 years of directly relevant experience.
- Plans to be or already registered as a: Professional Member (P.Eng.), Member-in-Training (M.I.T.), or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) with APEGA; or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with ASET.
- Possess a valid Alberta Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
